What is ‘Opportunity Name’? and how does this differ from ‘Contact Name’?

Modified on Mon, 25 Oct 2021 at 04:29 PM

If you are manually entering an ‘Opportunity’ in your account, it will not autofill what you are already entering. You will have to enter the Opportunity’s information manually.

If an ‘Opportunity’ goes through your funnel and fills out a form to book a call on your website, then that ‘Opportunity’ will automatically populate in your Nurch account with the contact fields filled.

The ‘Contact Name’ is fixed to the name of the person who filled out the form . Meaning an ‘Opportunity Name’ is a dynamic field that you can set within your account. Some people want the opportunity name to be the name of the lead’s business, some want it to be the street address if that’s how they categorize their projects. By default it’s set to the lead's first and last name.

For example: Let’s say you own a flower shop and I would like to order flowers for Mother’s day. I found your website and filled out your order form. In Nurch, I will automatically get added to your contacts and opportunities. The ‘Opportunity Name’ and ‘Contact Name’ will automatically be filled with my name. However, if you prefer to view your customer’s business as the event you could change my ‘Opportunity Name’ to “Mother’s Day Bouquet”.
